In order to fully understand the information technology construction and operation of Binhai Campus and effectively improve the level of information technology service support, on November 26, Wang Chaojie, director of the Information Technology Center, led a team including deputy director Ying Yifan and relevant technical backbone to conduct a comprehensive information technology needs survey and inspection of Binhai Campus. This action aims to discover and solve problems and accurately meet the development needs of the campus by combining "on-site inspection" and "on-site office".
The inspection team first went deep into the front lines of teaching, conducting a systematic inspection of the smart classrooms, recording studios, PBL classrooms, and standardized examination monitoring rooms at the Binhai campus. Technical personnel conducted comprehensive tests and on-site adjustments to the operational status of various teaching equipment. It is worth mentioning that the Information Technology Center completed a large-scale upgrade and renovation of the recording system at the Binhai campus this summer, constructing 66 new recording studios. This significantly improved the campus's digital teaching resource production level, providing solid technical support for innovative teaching models, high-quality course recording, and online classroom observation, among other teaching management tasks.

After completing the inspection of teaching facilities, the center team immediately participated in the Binhai Campus Information Technology Construction Needs Survey Meeting organized by the Binhai Campus Management Committee. Representatives from functional departments and colleges such as the Security Department, Renji College, and School of Pharmaceutical Sciences participated in the meeting.

Zhang Shuhui, deputy director of the Binhai Campus Management Committee, warmly welcomed the arrival of the Information Technology Center team. In his speech, he pointed out that as the student population of the Binhai Campus continues to expand, the pressure on information technology support is becoming increasingly prominent. This survey accurately addresses the actual needs of the campus's information technology construction, effectively responds to the specific problems and pain points encountered by various departments in their daily operations, and provides important support for the in-depth advancement of information technology work on the Binhai Campus.
At the meeting, Director Wang Chaojie clearly stated that he would fully support the information technology work of various colleges and launched the "immediate action, rapid action" mechanism on the spot. For problems that can be solved immediately, a dedicated person will be assigned to handle them on the spot and implement them within a limited time; for complex needs involving long-term planning, they will be recorded one by one and clearly included in the overall blueprint of the school's information technology for orderly advancement.
Following the research meeting, the inspection team conducted a second round of targeted inspections, focusing on the operation of the data center and conducting on-site testing of the outdoor wireless network. Previously, the center had focused on enhancing the "WMU-EDU" wireless signal coverage in the outdoor areas of the Binhai Campus, extending the high-speed network to areas with high-frequency activities for teachers and students, such as the playground, green spaces, and corridors. This inspection confirmed the optimization effect, effectively meeting the network needs of teachers and students for outdoor learning, discussion, and leisure activities.
With the continuous growth of the number of colleges and the scale of teachers and students carried by the Binhai Campus, the demand for cross campus teaching, office and other information technology has significantly increased. In this context, the guarantee services of the Information Technology Center are always synchronized and continuously online. This survey and inspection work effectively established a complete service loop of "starting from demand and implementing technology". The Information Technology Center will take this as an opportunity to establish a normalized campus linkage mechanism, always focusing on the experience of teachers and students, continuously improving the quality and response efficiency of information services, and building a more intelligent, convenient, and reliable information support environment for the high-quality development of school education and teaching.
